My History teacher just said that Freedom of Speech (First Amendment) only protects you from censorship by the Government, and not private businesses/companies/conglomerates. Is this true, or not?

but they made a law restricting us!
they are subsidizing big tech by giving them HELP!
so i am of the opinion either big tech takes the subsidy or they censor us! they cant have both! because they are in bed with the govenrment therfore no censoring
