Support for you and your students

JANUARY 2021

Dear Teachers,

Like you, we watched with shock and dismay yesterday as a mob attacked the United States Capitol. And right away, we thought of you and your students. We heard from many of you directly. You told us that you needed help providing background and context for your students, for managing questions and discussions. As always, we wanted to be there for you.

Our magazine teams worked through the night to create clear, age-appropriate resources for you and your studentsand for you to share with parents and your fellow teachers. You can access them here

Grade 3

Grade 4

Grades 5-6

Grades 6-8

Grades 9 and up

Our early childhood team will be sending resources to pre-K through grade two teachers today. Scholastic was founded 100 years ago with a clear mission: to support teachers and to help children understand themselves and the world. This missionand the work you dohas never felt more urgent.

Thank you for being there for our children.

With warmest wishes,

Lauren Tarshis SVP, Editor in Chief and Publisher

^^^That.^^^ The Chronicle of Higher Education" is pushing Trump supporters are terrorists narrative, and Trump invited mob violence. Someone please explain to me how a small handful of rioters (Antifard false flag posers) breaking some windows and cops killing unarmed protestors with their hands in plain sight----out of a gathering of a million people--is somehow "a violent mob"??? No, there were violent actors within the mob, the masses were peaceful protestors.

Has anything like this happened before?

America has faced difficult challenges many times before in its history. In the past, and today, people have banded together to speak out against threats to our democracy.

“In America, we always overcome our challenges,” Senator Chuck Schumer of New York said last night.

funny no mention of 1776, 1814 nada

Do you have the header info of the source email? Would have to be the actual email, not a forward to you.

I'm not terribly tech savvy, so this may not be what you're looking for. The subject just says "Attack on the Capitol" and I also have the email that sent it. It doesn't seem to have any other info so maybe it's a forward? The email it's from is a Scholastic email though.

If you do find out how to copy the header info,** DO NOT POST IT **here or anywhere, ever. That info will disclose precisely who you are. And I do mean, precisely.

Headers usually contain more info about the destination (i.e. you) than the source. Things like your IP, where your computer is located, probably your name and employment details (if this is a work email address), your street block (if personal email address)

Disgusting! Yeah my kindergarteners teacher was asking the kids on zoom today if they heard anything on the news recently, really fishing for something about the protest, so she could implant lies no doubt. Kids just looked at her and said nada. Like, NO BITCH, they are in Kindergarten why are you even fucking asking them?! I just happened to overhear it. They also emailed a similar statement to us parents. Hate this education system.
