I've always liked Pompeo, he seems to ALWAYS be on Trump's side, and I can't think of any instance of being double crossed by him in any way. But....

Before that he started his own company with some buddies from college making parts for the defense industry. To me, that's not something some college buddies do, that to me sounds like a taxpayer siphon set-up by people in the military industrial complex and handed off to a chosen golden boy,
When he was at Georgia Tech condemning CCP influence, he spoke about his company making parts for the defense industries and said something along the lines of "being an entrepreneur means knowing how to create values for others, even if that value isn't economic". I remember thinking it was weird, his parts should absolutely create "economic value". The only other value a defense company could add to others is illegal influence pedaling, but that's just my conjecture.
