I'm sorry to hear about that, that's terrible. To me, you seem to be the American and your husband the turncoat; based off of your profile name, I will say that Hungarians are amazing people, and you are more than welcome in the USA.
If it's any consolation, I'm the only one in my family who is America First and supported Trump through thick and thin since 2015. I get called all sorts of awful things, I barely associate with any of them due to the communist mind rot that's infested the once great USA. I have lost most of my family, friends and long term girlfriend over caring about the nation and the people. But, you know what? As horrible as losing people has been it's also been liberating, and know you are the better person.
I personally think Hungary probably has a brighter future than the USA, if you have to go home until you are able to get US citizenship, at least you will be in a nation that cares for its people and history; but then again, the EU is a serious threat in the long run.
