A lot of the people on this site get a lot of things, the point of all this very different. When it came to the issue of protesting and objecting to the election results the name of the game was "maintain positive public opinion". This idea involves the business community at large. When the protesters (whom we support) breached the Capital, the optics of the issue changed. No longer did the movement have a positive public opinion. Once that was lost so was the race, the country at large, at least for now. Senators get elected by the people sure, but they're supported by the business community which relies on public opinion. The rioters earlier this year maintained public opinion because the target was retail business and not the government.
