The whole fucking thing is bizarre. Makes no sense. How can so many people from so wide a specturm, from Pence, all the way through Kavanaugh and ACB and Cruz and cocaine turtle ... how can all of them fucking flip on Trump?

20-30 years ago after Reagan & HW controlled the presidency for 12 years and only lost 1992 because of Ross Perot, the Democrats realized they were losing so they have placed high profile Democrats into the party to play the part of opposition. Why not? If you're someone like Kemp who is already tepid on social issues, run as a Republican but help out Democrat allies.

It explains why we get people like Mitt Romney, John McCain and Jeb Bush. It's actually a smart plan.
