Hey South Dakota, Nebraska, Missouri, and Kansas! How are things out in your states? COVID shutdowns, mask mandates, what's going on? We talk a lot about Noem and how SD is literally the promised land. Out in your neck of the woods, how are things REALLY going? What are the policies and the local attitudes? Good job markets in denser populated areas for people with admittedly worthless degrees but know how to focus and work hard?
Asking for . . . . . myself because I've been drinking, the last few days have been icky, and above all else FUCK NEW YORK.

I am in Sioux Falls, SD. Things seem normal here. There is a mask mandate for the fees fees but has no fine and announced as unenforceable and only the stores like Walmart, Menards, Target, and Home Depot enforce masks. Even in Lowe's people go in w/o masks. The two big grocery store brands we have here have always left it up to the shoppers.
Honestly, I dont feel like it is very much different here. Stores and restaurants are opened, kids are in school, we have had events and such. I mean, we make it what it is. There are still a lot of the fearmongers here and all but it is what it is.
What do you consider a worthless degree? We LOVE people with a good work ethic and good morals here and we definitely could use some more patriots. Especially with word of mouth about our state getting out and more libs gonna screw our state up.
My degree is in music performance, lol. I'm was a full time musician and private instructor in NY until 2020, but I don't think it's ever coming back. I could see if I could somehow do that in the midwest, but I'm getting to the point where I'd take almost any job if it means living in a free state. Plus Cuomo wants to start putting people in death camps in NY.
Does this align with your degree?

Hailing from Oklahoma. In a city 50k+, masks were mandated by city, 30% abide by it, absolutely no legal enforcement by sheriff or local police. All business open to include restaurants and bars, although I believe there is an arbitrary 11PM curfew on bars. COVID is nocturnal after all.
Big cities slightly more restricted. Oklahoma City requires masks in all businesses, I think everyone complies there. Restaurants are open (haven't been to bars).
We did some Christmas shopping in mall down in Oklahoma City, some chain stores act like morons and only let a limited number of people in at one time. Seems very business specific; how it should. Mall seemed busy, people aren't acting like complete muppets here.
SD is looking better and better.
Thanks for asking, and fuck CT as well. And thanks to those who answered - very much debating between moving to red or seeing if i can be of use behind enemy lines.
Nebraska is pretty casual with the mask but liberals in Omaha wear them. Folks are tired of the dumb mask.
Well, most of us are fine and still living life like normal other than wearing masks, well, most of us. The weather's been dandy so it hasn't felt like a dark winter yet so that's a plus! Sorry that stupid people run your state! I hope they get told to get f*cked soon!
Not as great as it could be, but a hell of a lot better than in the city, or a blue state, or a blue state city.
I've gone around a bit and honestly, the sacred land has always been red counties in any state.
Even yours.
