Check page 12. Why would a website for a 2016 campaign be registered in 2018, and why don't the comments in the document address this?

This whole thing reeks of LARP. I think Wood got played on this one.

See reply below.

Yeah, looks like you're right. I checked a couple other domains and the created date actually aligns with the created date and isn't just the last time the domain was updated with a poor label.

I noticed the same thing. Domain registration from 2018.

Also I doubt all these people are actually using protonmail...

Yeah, the protonmail thing is strange. But look at the archived version of the who.is: https://archive.is/rfVBp - creation date is September 2016, it seems (?)

Well, since there is the archive of it, It seems perfectly acceptable that they let it lapse and someone else bought it which WOULD reset the created on date.

Look at the archived page, though. Domain registered in September 2016:

That I can go with, thank you.

I just archived two things tonight . Why didn't I think to check for one?

Maybe this might help explain that better. Because there is a registration date prior to finishing a website, therefore domains have to be registered, prior to creating the website. So, it took them a couple years to actually finish the website and publish it...that's why it states registered date rather creation date

2018 registration... for a 2016 campaign website?

CmonManDemoWhat76 0 points ago +1 / -1

I just explained that.

1
brimshae 1 point ago +1 / -0

Your explanation is that they finished a campaign website for a 2016 campaign, and they finished that website in 2018?

1
CmonManDemoWhat76 1 point ago +1 / -0

The website was finished, and made as such during the time it takes to finalize a website and domain. There is another reason to have done so, for a run at 2020, had it not been Trump winning for a 2nd term run.

1
brimshae 1 point ago +1 / -0

That still doesn't explain the "2016" part of the URL.

Point's moot, anyway. Someone found an archive with a 2016 registration date. https://archive.is/rfVBp

herefore domains have to be registered, prior to creating the website.

Domains do not at all have to be registered prior to creating any websites.

Almost all websites are developed OUTSIDE of the normal domain using internal development, staging, domains and then can even be fully deployed and accessible without the true target domain ever being purchased. You obv don't access it from that domain name but its fully accessible.

No, that now how website building and domain registration works.
