Long version as I see it:
Congress is still trying to remove him from office in spite of certifying Biden and less than 2 weeks left. He is in danger, and one of the things reported was that all the US fleets had returned home, but were sitting ready off both coasts.
There have also been many reports of huge military cargo movements in the skies above the US.

If something really is brewing, he's securing his family and getting ready beacuse there will be riots in the USA, and this will be the last chance China has for many decades to try anything since their political takeover has been revealed... If not outright, enough people understand the media, the movies, google, youtube, facebook, twitter and the politicians are not to be trusted under any circumstances. Jan 6th, and the congressional actions after "storming" of capitol hill revealed the true allegiences of those who are in.
He, his family and all who have worked for him are fighting in a place where surrender means literal death... If not a state execution, then a slow rot in a prison. They will continue fighting because the only other option is even more frightening.
I agree with everything you are saying. I have serious doubts about timing, why not warn ppl or at least not invite them across the country?
The best I have for it is that everybody is going home and talking about it. It put the spotlight on the congress, got them spinning a hilariously easily disproven lie about the violence (There was some but that was no riot), and Trump did a disappearing act like no other because everybody was focused on the Congress and the Capitol.
Hopefully he wanted to slide out to enact his plans now that the crime has fully been committed.
Maybe he needed the distraction to get himself and his family out of dodge because they're hunting for him. Notice his speech was delayed an extra 45mins or so while they put up more glass shields; They probably had an unusually credible threat.
