Religion is separate for a reason, it can be easily corrupted and creat monarchs ungoverned by the people. I don't think I have to educate any of you on what the separation of church and state means but it looks like some one needs to educate Milo.
I think the idea was also to protect individuals from being controlled by one particular church or religion as well. Which makes sense since so many early American settlers were here because they were being persecuted for not being part of "the right Church" or the state approved church. Including several of my ancestors.

Exactly. The Founders knew exactly what they were doing when they separated Church and State and it should stay that way.
They were protecting churches from being controlled by the state. The idea wasn't to banish religious thought from the public square.
