We are such a small - and anonymous - community, a lot of us could get scooped up and no one even would notice.
No, I don't think it will protect us.
Don't count on there actually being 80 million of us. A lot of people who voted for Trump aren't really Trump supporters - they just aren't Dems. If push comes to shove and there are real world repercussions to having supported Trump (like being put on watch lists, being blocked from getting a job or getting into a certain school), they will disavow in a heartbeat.
I don't know what the answer is. There are more secure ways to communicate (like Signal app), but there is always the possibility that the bad guys can infiltrate our groups and monitor us. Antifa heavily vets their members and is careful about who they speak to - ultimately members of the Conservative Resistance are going to have to crafty (and paranoid) like that.
