I have friends that only use Facebook, I HAVE to see what they had for lunch every day.
The addiction to knowing when people are taking a shit is insane, it even effects some people right here on TD.W.
I cut FB and all social media other then TD.W out of my life months ago and every day I feel liberated more and more.
I have also found out that most of those fuckers on there were never my friends, very few people have reached out to me by phone to see if I am OK or just how I was doing. I never gave a goodbye message or anything, just one day downloaded all my pics and closed the account.
Real friends and loved ones who care about you take the time to call you, just like the old days. If your 'friends' can't keep in touch like that, they are not your friends they just use you for your like's to pump their ego.
Had a Google+ account by default when gmail was brand new.
TDW is the only ‘social media’ I have.
Saw a buddy who I hadn’t seen or heard back from for a couple years when we started working at the same place. Dude said “oh I haven’t seen you in forever”. My response was “well my # never changed”
Edit: changed to try and be more accurate- would text the guy every couple months to see if he wanted to meet up with the crew. Life happens.
Actually tried meeting up a few times still do fyi.
Older we get more scheduled around DnD and WOW this dudes life gets. Its sad. Im like hey lets go meet up with my brother and our other buddy who moved back to the area.
‘Nah I got a raid to do’ or something is the response.
But I can't talk to my grandma.
