Bernie Sanders is an Independent.

Edit: in some states it is 'unaffiliated', 'No Party', or 'unenrolled'

Edit 2: Some of you think voting matters. I don't. Some of you think the republican party can be commandeered. I don't.

Deregistering from the republican party is at a minimum about SENDING A MESSAGE.

I'm in Nebraska and we only have Rep, Dem, Libertarian, and Independent as choices. :( I am mostly libertarian from a belief system, but don't want to be associated with the libertarian goofballs running, so just went with independent. I do agree with you though and would prefer unaffiliated.

In Oklahoma that is our choices too. If you are Independent you can only vote Democrat in Primaries. That’s not happening.
