Edit 2: Some of you think voting matters. I don't. Some of you think the republican party can be commandeered. I don't.
Deregistering from the republican party is at a minimum about SENDING A MESSAGE.
I disagree with this. Like it or not, this is a two-party country and electoral system. The Libertarians, until recently, straddled a popular middle ground of the electorate for fifty years and have nothing to show for it.
If you aren't a registered Republican, you can't primary out the weak GOP candidates who bow down to the left. Primaries are more important than the general elections at this point.
The GOP will transform into an America First party over the next few elections. It will just take some time because there are Senators and Representatives that have sticking power due to term limits and the power of incumbency.
I thought this up until yesterday. Now i think the republican party must be destroyed, maybe a true America First party will rise from the population. But we need a clean break.
