Bernie Sanders is an Independent.

Edit: in some states it is 'unaffiliated', 'No Party', or 'unenrolled'

Edit 2: Some of you think voting matters. I don't. Some of you think the republican party can be commandeered. I don't.

Deregistering from the republican party is at a minimum about SENDING A MESSAGE.

100% agree. I have been Party unaffiliated since I first registered two decades ago. I didn't like the leftist dems and I didn't like the leftist repubs. Nobody understood that the corrupt politicians didn't care what party they were in. And even though I mostly agreed with what the Republican party was supposed to be about, I didn't want them to feel like they had my vote guarenteed. I saw how poorly dems treated minorities because their vote was guarenteed.
