George Orwell warned you guys years back. In fact he warned us all. Shame on us for not listening! Back in the '60s when I was in high school his Animal Farm and 1984 were required reading in English Lit class. Today I expect it's now works of Karl Marx and the teachings of Chairman Mao.

I expect you'd get arrested for reading those in a school now

No joke, they are "banned" in many administrations across the US.

Really? In Canada (1970's), 1984 was required reading in high school. A lot of us take it for granted and throw in all the Orwellian quotes since they are appropriate, but I suspect than many younger people don't get it.

Ahahaha, you think they still read books in school? 😂😂😂

If they read a haiku they need a 2 hour break in a safe space. We’ve engineered an entire generation to expect instant-gratification dopamine hits from 6 second video clips. There’s a reason American sports have 250 commercial breaks, it’s all conditioning - give people enough concentration to read for 15 seconds, feel the gratification of giving a “like” or receiving an “upvote” and move on.

We live through pieces of chineses-built glass and plastic, parrot the same talking points, work out way through their institutions, take out enormous unforgivable debts to attain worthless degrees and join their workforce to pay most of our earnings back to them in taxes. We’re living the post enlightenment-era where ignorance is celebrated and curiosity ridiculed.
