This is a false premise. American's being exceptional has nothing to do with being asleep at the wheel. A doctor, a researcher, a Special Ops soldier etc etc could be the very very best at their jobs on the whole planet and still not understand the bigger picture.

The real problem is that we ignored McCarthy. He tried to tell us the enemy is in the gates infecting our kids with the disease of Marxism and everyone took the one person who was exceptional enough to see the truth and pushed him aside.
