Why would the Green Beret arrest people? That’s not their mission. Even if it was you are assuming cooperation fro the DS to help take down the DS which is just silly.
Everybody on here was stressing the need to remain calm at least until the electoral proceedings went through. The people who stormed the building were not acting on Trump’s guidance and hurt the process. So why act surprised that Giuliani condemns it?
Bannon and Giuliani are saying what happened at Capitol was a disgrace but are telling us at the same time that our entire country is being taken over and that there was an obvious coup against the president. It is completely contradictory.
I read this as you saying the opposite. I dunno where you are getting your information that the GB are somehow free of this mess but that’s likely not true. At this point I wouldn’t trust anybody with a shiny collar regardless of their specific outfit. If we were calling in operators though it would make more sense to look at units with an emphasis on direct action rather than ones who largely work as handlers. The GB is a force multiplier not a hammer.
SpecOps types are trained for specific mission types. Except for MARSOC which last I heard was still trying to figure out where it fits (USMC is a newcomer to SOCOM and MARSOC is still young but likely to be direct action focused based on the Raiders who are seen as a sort of predecessor).
My understanding of the Green Beret is that they deal mainly with inciting/training/supporting local populations. They are the guys who guy in and create a rebellion. They are not used for LE and honestly they don’t have the numbers for that type of mission either. That doesn’t even get into the fact that UCMJ doesn’t apply to private citizens. The military is not gonna lead a big arrest party for numerous reasons but if they did it likely wouldn’t be Green Berets. If it was targeted arrests maybe a direct action unit but if it was gonna be huge then you’d probably see Grunts/legs brought in at least as near side security to maintain order while the Ricky-recon guys go in for the data sensitive stuff.

Military seems a good way to check people. If they are saying things that seem based out of Hollywood more than actual operational standards then they are likely unreliable or at least they aren’t getting their sources properly. Completely plausible that some atypical things could happen but generally speaking each group in the military has a specific function. The higher up the tier ladder the more specific you can expect units to be as it lets them get REALLY good at one thing instead of being a Jack of all trades.
