Gaetz is a political opportunist, pure and simple. Like Cruz, he's more suited as a used car salesman than a leader I would ever get behind. I don't trust him. He says all the right things because he knows it's what his constituents want to hear. That's it.
I urge everyone to stop voting for these people. Stop listening to what they're telling you and focus on what they did and do when they actually have the power to instigate change. It was easy for Cruz to stand up on Wednesday and object because he knew nothing was going to come of it. It's political theatre; the equivalent of Hulk Hogan talking about how he's going to wreck Macho Man at Summer Slam, then after the taping he goes out and gets drinks with the guy.
Stop playing their game. Don Jr.'s speech on Monday infuriated me, because it was filled with the same old platitudes of fear I've been hearing from the right my entire voting life: "Vote for us, or else! You don't want that other guy to get in there, after all!" Well, you know what, Don? I kind of do at this point, because our side has done nothing to course correct or even stem the tide when they've been in a position to do so. The least I can do is help take their seat at the table away, even if only passively. I doubt it's going to have any more of a detrimental affect on my life than if they had won.
In short, this is all a dog and pony show, folks, and these people are nothing more than bad actors in an even worse play. Stop participating. Yes, Don, I am taking my ball and going home. Only a fool keeps playing a rigged game that they have no hope of winning. And frankly, I don't need the exercise in frustration anymore.
Or a nationwide forensic audit with all data 100% transparent. Since so much evidence has been destroyed, chain of custody broken, procedures violated, etc., the only viable outcome from the audit would be a re-vote. That’s what will save the republic.
FUCK THAT! We need to fight back in anyway and everyway we can! Our country is worth fighting for! Our liberty is worth fighting for!
By all means, don't trust politicians. Don't trust the elite. Expect betrayal. Expect them to lie, cheat, and steal. BUT DO NOT MAKE IT EASY FOR THEM! We need to stand by and in support of one another. Today Gaetz is with us, so we should support him for as long as he is. We gain nothing through apathy and surrender!
I don't disagree with you, but for your last point. Gaetz cannot be trusted. He is one of them, too, regardless of what he says. He talks a good game today, but like Cruz, I guarantee you, when he has to do something that will actually matter, he will stab us all in the back.
After what happened this week, I will never vote for anyone with an "R" beside their name that isn't running locally. When people first get into the political game, I think many of them still have genuinely good intentions. By the time they begin running for state- and nation-wide office, though, I'm convinced every one of them, Democrat and Republican both, have been corrupted. Either through blackmail, buyout, or long-term exposure to the swamp, but none of them are to be trusted.
We've seen over the last two months that our elections are nothing more than a show to give the masses the illusion that they have a say in our government. But the truth is, the outcomes have been decided well in advance. I don't even think the winners and losers matter all that much, so long as everyone knows what role they're playing when it comes to vote for X, Y, and Z.
And I'll admit, short of an entire tear-down of the system we currently have in place, I really don't have a solution. I just know for me, I'm not going to waste my time participating in something that will have no effect in the end. It's taken too much out of me over the years, and even if my vote doesn't really count, I don't want anyone thinking that I had a hand in electing any of these frauds anymore.

>no one
No one but you, oh saviour, our holy messiah, please lead us into the light!

TL;DR "Lie down and die."
