I don't disagree with you, but for your last point. Gaetz cannot be trusted. He is one of them, too, regardless of what he says. He talks a good game today, but like Cruz, I guarantee you, when he has to do something that will actually matter, he will stab us all in the back.
After what happened this week, I will never vote for anyone with an "R" beside their name that isn't running locally. When people first get into the political game, I think many of them still have genuinely good intentions. By the time they begin running for state- and nation-wide office, though, I'm convinced every one of them, Democrat and Republican both, have been corrupted. Either through blackmail, buyout, or long-term exposure to the swamp, but none of them are to be trusted.
We've seen over the last two months that our elections are nothing more than a show to give the masses the illusion that they have a say in our government. But the truth is, the outcomes have been decided well in advance. I don't even think the winners and losers matter all that much, so long as everyone knows what role they're playing when it comes to vote for X, Y, and Z.
And I'll admit, short of an entire tear-down of the system we currently have in place, I really don't have a solution. I just know for me, I'm not going to waste my time participating in something that will have no effect in the end. It's taken too much out of me over the years, and even if my vote doesn't really count, I don't want anyone thinking that I had a hand in electing any of these frauds anymore.
