Does anyone else feel this way?

Don't get me wrong, I really do think that it's necessary to have a neutral ground where you're not banned for wrongthink, but there are just so many issues with Parler that make it such an un-enjoyable service to use.

  • The UI is clunky and poorly designed. It just looks like shit.
  • The site is buggy and unpolished.
  • Lots of notable personalities still have yet to move there (most importantly, Trump).

Twitter might be a shithole, but at least it's a well-designed and functioning shithole.

Agreed. Parler is cumbersome, slow in opening, etc. They need to work on the mechanics of it.

People on Parler kinda suck too. Follower collectors and Trump trains, there are some good accounts but the fake news runs wild and Jesus/Scripture cloud memes are all that's there. It's a good start but it does need vast improvement. This site is way better than Parler.

I understand, but they've had months to fix some of this stuff and it's just as bad as the initial exodus.

Most of the stuff that needs to be fixed to make it usable is just small QoL stuff, but it hasn't been addressed for months now.

Web developers generally don't make that much, especially at smaller companies lol.

Maybe if you're a senior developer, but that's on the higher end of the range. It's also relative to where you live. Parler is based in Henderson, NV. We're not talking LA/Silicon Valley here. It's possible, but we just don't know. I'll hedge my bets in saying that they're probably not offering too many positions that are six figures or above though.

More context to my initial post:

I'm a software engineer, so I have some context to what would be required to fix some of the stuff that plagues Parler. Most of the stuff I'm talking about are just small QoL improvements or bugfixes. I realize a complete overhaul of the codebase would not be feasible given Parler doesn't have anywhere near the funding that Twitter does. That being said, they lose users simply because they join, see the state the site is in, and don't even give it a shot. They should be focusing on making these improvements ASAP.

I tried the platform months ago, and many of the same bugs that plagued it then still exist today. It just feels like I'm using Twitter in 2006. They at least need to be more transparent about the things they've worked on (and currently working on). I haven't been able to find a changelog.

just roll with it - the bigger they get the more improvements can be made. They have all sorts of bugs they need to work out as well since the subscriber base exploded.

I believe they're working to improve it, especially now that Dan Bongino is leaving Twitter completely for Parler.
