I've found that when in the world, sometimes you have to make a point strongly or it doesn't get heard over the noise. And there is a lot of noise out there. Kind of like overturning tables and whipping the money changers with a cord. It makes a bold statement.
I believe pede is suggesting that you are calling him a child while espousing an infantile way of viewing the world; your belief in a white bearded man in the sky may also be viewed as childish to some.
