I'm still in NYC, where I was born, where I've always been. But I don't recognize the place any more. It's time to go. I have the funds and I can make it happen.

Where can I go? I won't be happy in a rural area where I need to drive half an hour to the nearest tiny town. Are there small or medium-sized cities out there where an ex-New Yorker can be welcomed? Are there places where people like us are gathering?

Am I kidding myself? Is this Germany, 1933, and my family and I should be getting out of Dodge, entirely?

I'm dead serious, pedes. I don't know where to go. We can't stay here. It's not safe and things have already hit the skids, and they're picking up speed every single day.

Poland? Brazil?

More seriously though, there aren't very many good places right now. Maybe Texas or the rural south, but even those are vulnerable.

I've also thought about Hungary. I don't speak Hungarian, though, nor do I know what it would take to emigrate. The country is based as hell, and I like that. And I'm pretty good with languages; I could learn at least basic Hungarian pretty quick if I had to.
