They won't have to execute en masse, just do enough to get you to kneel (even if it's a fake kneel), because they know it'll ruin your livelihood - your past rebellion will have you ostracized from "normal" society for causing trouble, and your current compliance will see you shunned by your allies for bending the knee. The state won't have to execute you, you'll do it for them for free.
Personally, I'd rather see Cuba/Venezuela version - at least that way people are aware of the bleak reality and can work against it. Can't say the same with the Canada/UK version.
