At first I was going to post a “I don’t understand how we got here” post, but that would be a lie.

Sure, I can repeat everything we already know about the election, but I won’t. I’ll start much earlier back in the early 90s with Bush 1 and the beginnings of nafta.

In ignorance Bush 1 began negotiations to create a world wide free trade network. It sounds great, right? The only problem is that it relies on the honesty of the trade partners involved. Then Billy Clinton got elected. The weed smoking, sax squawking, southern hippie who signed them. Within a few years our industrial backbone was crushed, and it has yet to recover.

Then you have the repeal of the glass-stegal banking act that prohibited banks from making bad loans. It was passed around the time of the Great Depression precisely to stop another one. With its repeal, the Clintons were able to push banks into making subprime loans to people who could not afford to pay them back under threats of “you’re racist if you don’t make these loans”.

Both the free trade blunders and subprime loan situation lead us into the great recession of the 2000s which in turn gave us obama and the garbage he forced us into.

All these years I’ve felt the Republicans were only guilty of making mistakes, but now I saw many of them turn against Trump even before the riot at dc.

I’ve always said, “I’m not a republican, but I’ll be damned before I vote for a democrat.” Now, I don’t know if I can even vote for another republican.
