I am a Texan --- born and raised. I do not see it happening. Maybe a Texit type of thing over a decade. Everything is so intertwined.

Doesn't Texas have it's own isolated power grid?

It's own oil?

It's own farm lands?

Seems like Texas keeps this option intentionally viable at all times.

Their own power grid, own military, own farms, they supply like 60-70% of ENERGY to the rest of the US. Also, there is no state tax, but what Texans pay in Federal Tax is LESS than what they get back from Federal government. As a stand alone, Texans could pay less in taxes and ensure that every federally funded job that currently exists in the state would not be affected. We'd honestly be better off.
