Good lord, whatever else McCarthy may have been he is not a strategic example to follow if you want our principles to WIN. Because he didn't exactly do that, did he? In fact the McCarthy period was a big strategic defeat for the right because the left used him to accelerate the subversion and shriek "McCarthyism!" every time they got challenged.
