I actually mistyped, I meant "start of the war". The economic reforms, reduction of bureaucracy, and draining the entrenched oligarchs at the beginning were great for the people and country (which is why they were voted in, in the first place). It was only until they went too far and started to attack outside of their country did things start getting bad. Remember, the Nazis first plan was to just kick out their unwanted, not kill them, but every country refused to take them (including the US).
At the time the nazis came to power I think anything would have been an improvement for them. The "enlightened" western europeans did what they love to do: plunder the crush the defeated Germans leading to them being in even worse condition when the great depression hit. And this helped set things up for WW2. The brown shirts weren't so different from antifa/blm except there were a lot more of them.
