I doubt the US military would run people down in their tanks, but I have no doubt the FBI and plenty of law enforcement groups would run people down with their repurposed MRAP's and Bearcats.
I live in a still conservative area, so I don't think our local police and sheriffs would do anything like that, nor the state police. I worry about blue areas, though.
