Need .onion site on private servers with everyone accessing via Tor. I've been saying this for a while but didn't think we'd actually have to resort to it lol

Zeronet my friend. A decentralized net is what we need.

googurt 15 points ago +22 / -7

Run by Chinese bitcoin... no thanks.

Berkeley 4 points ago +4 / -0

looks like you didn't do your homework. Doesn't use bitcoin.

3
The_Chad_612 3 points ago +5 / -2

Bitcoin is not chinese.

not necessarily a viable option. will always be under the threat of a 'corporate takeover' like shut down

1
BidensHairyLegs 1 point ago +1 / -0

Yes. A decentralised solution on Blockchain is what we need.

covfefesocialism 1 point ago +1 / -0

Too late for this. Biggest mistake was allowing the net to be centralized in the first place.

Tor is the biggest honeypot, compromised thing out there, as I've been told by people who stand to know these things. Sorry, not touching Tor.

12
Svdden_Maga 12 points ago +13 / -1

It's only a honeypot if you are looking up illegal shit.

23
HeavyVetting 23 points ago +23 / -0

Opposing Biden may be illegal sooner than we think.

12
FireannDireach 12 points ago +12 / -0

Like being conservative?

Do you really think the FBI will give you a pass because you're not looking for drugs or CP?

Wake the fuck up.

Besides, if you voted for Trump, that vote is all they need to go after you. Tor won't stop the IRS from auditing you.

CIA have compromised exit nodes and are in their pocket. Might as well be illegal.

Tor is fine. It's the content you visit that may not be. There's a reason why it's used to get information in and out of China.

1
wtsnaks 1 point ago +1 / -0

Yep. They're able to track you if they want. CIA has many exit nodes fully compromised.

There's no way Tor would handle the traffic of this site. However a good use of a .onion site is a single simple text page linking to the current page of thedonald and the next couple backups. That way if win/xyz/one/space get cuckshmucked then there's a consistent place to find and regroup.

1
JS_Mill 1 point ago +2 / -1

what are those exactly?

3
patriotblend 3 points ago +4 / -1

a website with a .onion address is only resolved inside the tor network and it's much like generating a crypto coin address. They aren't doled out in neat little names like most websites we're used to. Most .onion sites look like gibberish. It's so difficult to get a particular name that Facebook had to use a supercomputer crunching for a long time to finally generate a single address with facebook in the letters.

Because they're generated and not assigned, you can have a .onion address resolve to a local server and no one can take the permission to have that address away, nor block others' ability to reach it. At least, in theory.

The downside is you need to use tor browser or an operating system that runs tor, like Tails.

He's talking about decentralization. It's great for preventing censorship and outside interference. I haven't messed with zeronet too much so I can't say, but starting a decentralized server off of gnusocial or mastodon is not too hard and we can run as many as we want.

this doesnt prevent censorship in the longrun, anything that is susceptible to a 51% attack means whoever controls the majority of the node, controls the entire network.

That is not a good option for anything.

TurboFrogz 5 points ago +5 / -0

Tor means dark net time. We are no longer free to be in the public. Going dark is the only option.

I think that this and this explains it fairly okay, but it might be a little technical.

AFAIK TD.Win doesn't have an .onion address at the moment.

E: If you're gonna watch, watch the second one first.

I just said the same. I wouldn't even know where to begin.

For anyone unaware, Brave browser has Tor built in.

85Dacudo 5 points ago +8 / -3

Unlikely, this site violates non of its own rules.

KickingPugilist 8 points ago +8 / -0

They will pressure cloudflare

85Dacudo 0 points ago +2 / -2

Let them try

4
KickingPugilist 4 points ago +4 / -0

Well we're at the point where we have to keep clicking biats and bikes and that's likely just from DDOS attacks.

3
TrumpTrainChoooChoo2 3 points ago +3 / -0

Mods already said yesterday their servers threatened to take them offline.

5
UpTrump 5 points ago +5 / -0

r/DonaldTrump got banned and they are fine, their discord and ours just got banned. They moderate their discord extremely well, FWIW.

We're next

4
MakeAmericaLegendary 4 points ago +4 / -0

There's a difference. We own this platform. At worst, we get dehosted and move to another host.

4
UpTrump 4 points ago +4 / -0

FBI is coming for us

85Dacudo 0 points ago +1 / -1

Again we don’t know if the ban is permanent. We should probably be looking into that instead....whatever y’all are supposed to be doing.

Time will tell though

christianknight 0 points ago +1 / -1

we need post purging

3
8yearmaga 3 points ago +3 / -0

We were banned off of reddit and for what? Our rules for the /r were more strict than reddit as a whole and we banned everyone for violating the rules. The rule we are violating here is that we don't think like liberals.

2
julianleroux 2 points ago +2 / -0

If everyone here gets a couple of emails from other random pedes, then it's very easy to rebuild this site anywhere we want.
