I hear you. But, if you jump the Whitehouse fence, you are shot on the spot. She was climbing through the window of the State capital that was breached with all on Congress inside. If it was my house and people were breaking my windows, I would shoot the first person coming through my window. It doesn't make the loss of her life any less tragic. I'm honestly surprised more people were not hurt or killed.
Ashli Babbitt was no hero. She was an idiot. Trump was very clear that he wanted his supporters to come to Washington for a huge peaceful protest -- the biggest MAGA rally ever. He did not want anybody smashing their way into the Capitol.
Ashli was not some naive kid. She knew damn well that Antifa/BLM was infiltrating the crowd, disguised as Trump supporters, and that Capitol Police and other security personnel in and around the Capitol had no way to distinguish between real Trump supporters and Antifa/BLM. She was behaving like an Antifa/BLM thug, trying to smash through a doorway's sidelight window to get through the barricaded doorway and deeper into a secured area. Then she did the most idiotic thing imaginable: She climbed up higher than anyone else in that crowded area, and gave the armed security and LE personnel a clear shot to take her out without hitting anyone else, whether other security/LE or less aggressive trespassers.
If some Antifa thug dressed up as a Trump supporter had gotten into the congressional chambers and killed Senator Hawley or Rep. Brooks, we'd be howling about how anybody trying to breach secure areas of the Capitol was obviously not a legitimate Trump supporter and should have been shot on sight, and Capitol Police and other security personnel must be "compromised" or have "sold out to the Deep State" because they just stepped aside and let it happen.
Why are people surprised this woman was shot?
Because those of us with brains think:
