Fuck Apple and all "walled gardens". Those of us who were in tech in the 90's and early 2000's knew that proprietary "walled gardens" would destroy the internet as we knew it.
When I left tech and retired early, toward the end I felt that I had just participated in something "unholy" and evil. Many of us were naive as to how our work would be used.
Tech found a way around moral qualms and high salaries and began to import tens of thousands of foreign workers whom they could control, and pay a pittance to.
I thank god everyday I saved the money, was able to retire very early, and got the hell out of the industry. I have never regretted it one moment.

Exactly. Thus I have not and never will buy an Apple product.
Never have. Never will. I use a linux phone, not android. Not cheap, but I have the most control possible.
