Why would Apple's choice of platform, determine what social media you use? If it's just for the sake of having an "app" on your homescreen, simply create a shortcut to the webpage. I have one for TDW
Well, I refuse to use Apple in general, but in this particular case, it may mean half the user base can't access it. I don't know how many use Apple. So no point going somewhere half the group is excluded.
Aren't they talking about sending an update into Apple products to block the website? So that no Apple product can access it? Not just removing from the App store? I may have misunderstood.
Regarding the update, the only person I've heard say that, said it was just his speculation. I haven't researched it myself. But I will tell you this, if I was suddenly only able to visit TD.WIN with a different OS, I'd switch.

I once had an iPhone, the app store is not the only store available if you know where to look.
