Facebook is THE most intrusive internet company ever. Use a "Facebook Container" if you're on firefox to your extensions. Also use "Privacy Badger" with your other browsers. And if DOES NOT matter whether or not you have facebook. Anytime you see a facebook "Share" or "Like" (thumbs up) button on ANY page, facebook has access to your data.
Use multiple browsers for different activity.
Again:
Privacy Badger
Facebook Container (firefox only)
DuckDuck Go (search engine)
VPN (A MUST)
What VPN service is recommended? I'm using Brave browers, does that work in blocking FB tracking?
There's many out there. There's alot to consider. What you wanna do is find on that does NOT keep log files of when you connect, disconnect, has a kill switch (doesn't allow internet connection if VPN service disconnects), is not in the "14 eyes" jurisdiction, end-to-end encryption, speed and much more.
For a recommendation, although it's unsure if ExpressVPN DOESN'T keep logs (they say they don't), everything else on the above list (and much more ), it does have. But again, do your research and find what's best for you.
Brave browser is good, I use it as well. In the settings page you can turn off facebook embedded content. That's one step.
Facebook tracks everything you, regardless of whether or not you have an account with them and the way they sneakily do is through their "share" and "like" buttons found on nearly every you visit. You need to find a way to minimize that.
Firefox has a "facebook container" plugin which does a really job blocking those from tracking you. Unfortunately, not available on brave (which is chrome based).
Use privacy badger, use multiple browsers for different purposes (use one browser for your normie life), use a VPN and if shit gets really bad, use TOR + VPN.
