It is truly terrifying how absolutely ready they were to weaponize their scorched earth tyranny for any excuse. This is the pogrom they’ve been jonesing for since Trump was elected. And they have no idea they’re the baddies - the witch burners, the book burners, the Gestapo - all the things they think go away with abolishing religion.

CS Lewis was right that the most frightening people are those who rule with an iron fist because they think they’re morally right.
