I searched thru the replies, because that always saves some legwork, and saw someone did an image search. Came back to the Jimmy Carter library in Atlanta. Except, it doesn’t exactly match up. The mantle in the one posted has figural statues on it while the Carter mantle has vases. Some other differences, too.
Others in the comments said that the exact photo isn’t showing any matches online.
If he was being held as he says, posting this would seem risky. I have a hard time seeing him say, “kek” too. Maybe a coordinated disinfo campaign from backstabbers to make him appear crazy?
Of course not! I don’t believe anything should be just dismissed out of hand so easily. If for no other reason the research keeps us sharp and thinking. Knowledge is power. Even if it is crazy for Cocoa Puffs we should know everything about it to inform others. Especially in times like these. It’s an information war first and foremost.
Like you said, your first inclination was psyop, same as me. But, like your friend, there will be those that believe it. We have to know as much as possible to say “hey, not so fast, consider this. . .” Just telling people they’re dumb or silly isn’t the way to go, that helps nothing. Just drives a wedge and drives people further into their beliefs. Could also be clues there to tell you who is possibly behind it. I think it’s a dumb, dangerous game someone is playing and hopefully they don’t continue with it.
Even the anti Trumpers were believing it, that’s scary, unless they’re there as confidence builders.
