Don't let them push updates automatically.

Every device I have is on manual; always has been since Gates shit in my hard-drive back in the early days of Vista - what a shit-show that was. I let the suckers test the updates before I get them.

Apps and operating system.

This. I just finally moved from Win 7 to Win 10, and the amount of tracking and data collection within this operating system is scary. Learn to disable these things if you haven't already.

Instructions for more newer age android phones:

Newer android phones download the update, and install on device restart, this is how you disable the install on restart.

Go into settings , about device, scroll down to build number

Tap build number 7 times, sometime you have to go 9 times. It will say something like "you are now a developer"

Go back to settings, then usually at the bottom sometimes in alphabetical open "developer settings" sometimes it's "developer options"

Should be a toggle for manual updates, or update on restart. Toggle it

While you are in there you need to also enable "allow apps from 3rd parties" or "allow install from instructed developers" this is how you install .apk files (app files) without having to download from the play store.

If you’re on apple, they store the update on your phone before asking you to update. Go to general / iPhone storage and look for the update, you can then delete and they won’t ask again till they push the next big version update.

You guys are seriously just now worried about your phone?! Throw that phone away, is the only way to stop the invasion. P.S. look up "Stingray technology." You are already fucked if you have been doing illegal things through you phone.

Big tech is trying to purge alt platforms. The concern is that they will push an update that removes alt tech apps and will prevent connecting to those platforms any other way.

Because big tech is declaring war on anyone that doesn’t conform to the CNDNC. They’ll try to update your phone so you can’t access information.

bring me up to speed....what's the downside risk of NOT doing what you recommend?

They push an update that does deep state shit.

ouvrez_les_yeux 1 point ago +2 / -1

I'm assuming this means ALL devices--desktops, tablets, etc.?

ancientarchitect369 5 points ago +5 / -0

Yes, should be all devices at least. Even without the current fuckiness you have no idea how often updates, especially windows updates, can break stuff.

Work in IT, and all the time random shit will stop working, troubleshoot and figure out sure enough an update ran the previous day. Sometimes you also have to keep an eye on the update setting, because even if you turn it off sometimes it'll randomly turn back on for no apparent reason.
