Notes for Context: .onion is like a .com or .org, but it goes through the Tor network which in a broad sense is like the deep web. You can download the Tor browser and keep your searching anonymous, but I would also highly recommend getting a VPN and/or downloading another operating system such as Tails OS if your a more advanced tech individual.
