You can get the app by searching for the .apk file itself, in your favorite search engine.

(For now) androids allow you to install apps that didn't come from the play store.

Yeah as a tech worker this is how we test apps internally before releasing them on the store. You have to modify your settings to allow 'third-party' or 'unknown' apps (depending on your version of Android) before hand though.

This is also how adult-content apps bypass big tech censorship. Ditch Apple!

No thanks. I’ve had Android. Too many hidden settings, and it’s google. I would literally delete apps, and they’d show up again. Apple is best for me. Never updated to the covid update also. My Apple maps never shut down in DC because of it (me thinks)

Some Android phones are customized to disallow uninstallation of certain apps, but there are still ways to delete all the app data and disable the apps so they don't show up. Apple totally controls you and your experience. You are forced to use the apps they approve and they can remove apps from your phone that they don't like. Android cannot do this because it's open source. Also Google makes no money from Android itself, only from their bundled apps (including and especially the Google Play Store).

I'm not trying to tell you what to do, if you want to continue to live in smart phone prison be my guest. Maybe the prison guards will nice to you. But if you value the freedom to use your phone how you would like and continue to have access to all the popular apps then Android is the only choice.
