The eight steps of genocide (these do not need to occur in order, but in this case they have):

1. Classification: "us vs. them", clearly Trump supporters vs. non-Trump supporters.

2. Symbolization: MAGA caps, Trump paraphernalia, Gadsden flags, Confederate flags

3. Dehumanization: Being called Nazis and fascists for years, attacks on Trump supporters not being prosecuted, being labeled terrorists for walking into a building.

4. Organization: We probably won't know the full organization until it's too late.

5. Polarization: Relentless attacks from the media and extremists force people into one group or another, terrorism targeting moderates (BLM and Antifa riots, anyone?), attacking and silencing those in the center.
