G19 Gen 4 is my EDC. Highly recommended. I have not shot the Gen 5 so I can’t offer any comparison. I shot many other 9MM before deciding on the Glock, and honestly loved shooting the M&P Shield more than the Glock. But with big hands I was constantly on the slide lock and the slide would not rack when the mag was empty. YMMV, def get to a range and try them out!

I kind of like the subcompact 9mm handguns. They're a bit jumpy (because they're smaller and lighter) but I really do like the compactness.
M&P Shield 2.0 Springfield Hellcat Sig P365 etc
All of the subcompacts (at least that I've tried) have been really really enjoyable.
