Think about it. Do these actions look those who won or those who are scared out of their minds? Purging a whole load of accounts including Trump's.
Whatever is going to happen, they sure are trying to keep a lid on any information from spreading. It makes sense considering the number 1 thing that the powers at be fear is an awake populace.
They took this action because they know the population is waking up. They know soon, it will be unsafe for them on the street.

It's the same what happened after the Nazis came to power, or Stalin. Total removal of political opposition, silencing of opposition voices, arrests, intimidation etc.
I'm an optimist myself, but this "THEY'RE AFRAID" is false hope. There is no "secret plan" to rely on. If there is, fine. But unless proven, better assume that you HAVE TO FIGHT to keep your rights. Do not rely on "something major" that might or might not happen. This is not a time for complacency anymore. The purge right now is real and it's happening and it needs to be fought NOW. Waiting for a miracle can just as well turn out to be suicide. Once this new situation has become the accepted status quo, it's too late. We need to act while people are outraged.
