Thanks! I just got Brave working. Had to uninstall it and reinstall to get the latest version since the update was not working. Im guessing I had a really old version installed from a few years ago. Would you recommend using Brave instead of the TOR Browser or does it not matter? Does Brave use the TOR network?

Brave + VPN, or Brave in a TOR private tab is good for most things. However one thing to note: If you visit a compromised website and through the website they gain access to your system, it can defeat the purpose of TOR.

For max security one must use something like Tails. Tails is a bootable OS with TOR built in. You boot it up, visit whatever websites and conduct your business through TOR. The entire live OS (residing only in ram) doesn't have much of anything a compromised site could target. Once you're done conducting business you shut down the computer, and everything that was in ram is wiped. For extra security do this on public WiFi somewhere (making sure nobodies looking over your shoulder), and don't always go to the same place. This normally would be overkill for most people, and probably still is, but with the way things are going who the hell knows lol.

Note: I see you're the OP so you probably already know this since Tails is mentioned, but wanted to stress this. TOR in brave does not equal TOR in tails.
