At this point Laws don’t matter

theRealPizzabandit 4 points ago +4 / -0

This. Congress just invalidated the constitution, so laws have no meaning anymore.

Which is why you take: LA, AR, MI, AL, FL, MO, IA, SD, ND, NM, AZ, UT, MT, NV, .... with you :)

When the time is right I will agree.

Any state can secede. They just have to be prepared for the ensuing war.

Any state can secede at any time. Our framers said so with a little document called the Declaration Of Independence. When a government becomes tyrannical, it is the choice of the people to institute new government. If that requires secession then thats what it requires.

Civil War changed that

2
CaptainButthurt 2 points ago +2 / -0

It didn't change anything. If a government ignores its own laws, then its laws are meaningless.

Like now? How is that working out for us? Laws don't matter right now except for those abiding by it. Civil War is inevitable, but right now, not enough people believe that to be true.

That is true but Texas is not there yet.

Slightly different time and environment, no? Not as easy to fight the most powerful military in the world with our AR's, 30-30's, 12 gauges........I believe the time will come, but right now you couldn't even get a majority in Texas, much less the country to allow it.

Nevercommunism55 2 points ago +2 / -0

By the time and logic argument, wouldn’t the Federal Government be constrained in using force to keep states in? Would it not be more of a Brexit situation?

1
RhinestoneTexan333 [S] 1 point ago +1 / -0

The government and their officials despise Texas, but not their economic value. They would probably love for us to attempt secession so they could wipe out the patriots, while leaving the liberals in Austin, San Antonio, Dallas, and Houston to govern the state.

Would be a hard thing to do, especially considering the large number of Texans in Combat Arms/Operations.

Very hard. I live in the country with the closest City being 80 miles away. I've had multiple discussions with friends about this. Many of which are Texans before Americans and not one of them believe this is remotely possible, and most don't believe it to be anywhere close to a wise decision, for a multitude of reasons. If these native Texans who are pure country don't think it's possible, no way it can be successful. In a couple more years, I would like to see if their position changes. Maybe even a couple weeks.

Not for us

I never understand this argument. You don’t ask for permission.

We have plenty of laws in place that they just broke. They didn’t follow the law and have yet to be held accountable. May hap that’s what’s coming, but they are currently not paying for their transgressions.

RhinestoneTexan333 [S] 1 point ago +1 / -0

You are correct, you don't have to ask for permission. However, if the citizenship of your state is not ready to secede, then you are not accomplishing anything attempting to lead the charge. And, I can assure you, the citizens of Texas are not at that point yet. There are plenty who are, but not the majority.

There are many southern states who will join up with you.

Also yea... Democrat judges decided, indirect violation of the Constitution, that they could extend the vote deadlines even though the Constitution explicitly says only the state legislatures have the power to do so...

So yea... fuck laws.

Is the US government at present in possible conflict with original intent? Congress is acting INSANE at present. The people's will has been circumvented. Justice has turned a blind eye.

That was a court ruling deom the united states, and we are no longer the United states. The states are being conquered by an illegal globalist cabal of tyrannical elites out to enslave us all for farming tax money.

It has no standing anymore. Tell texas to man up, shut its borders, and tell usa to fuck off.

White, (1869), U.S. Supreme Court case in which it was held that the United States is “an indestructible union” from which no state can secede. In 1850 the state of Texas received $10,000,000 in federal government bonds in settlement of boundary claims.

Wasn't that technically just dicta? If the outcome of the case did not rely on it, it is not a holding.

Also pretty sure it came in the form of an "obviously this is true" statement, which would mean it was never fully argued or settled.
