The president cannot fire him, as he is a duly-elected constitutional officer. He may only be impeached and convicted and thereby removed through constitutional mechanisms...OR be arrested for Treason or Sedition and thereby incapacitated in his office, and then it is speculative as to whether it would be Line of Succession replacement (aka, San Fran Nan) or by direction of the Commander-in-Chief (under limited or full martial law).
He would be able to under the Emergency economic War Powers act when you have nearly half of the House and Most of the Senate committed Treason by Certifying the election when they know their is over whelming evidence of election Fraud and foreign interface. I am sure you will see ties to China with Aunt Nancy and Mike Pence.

If you read the information in the article It reports that Trump will fire Pence based on disloyalty and Treason. So I am sure that is why he is saying no to aunt Nancey on invoking the 25th amendment. I Just found a video of the report of the Article.
