I doubt the patriots there had a single rifle among them that day. Any "exchange" of gunfire would have been a Tiananmen Square massacre, which would have made them look like total monsters (and would immediately vindicate any patriots who decided to retaliate in the future). That's why the deep state didn't simply open up on the patriots with automatic weapons when they breached congress.
