You simply can't sabotage hardware that's mass produced. Maybe a batch, at most, but then they'd be recalled. You have to keep in mind there's hundreds of millions invested in QA and if something is off schematics they'll sperg out.

Hell, I'm sure that Gab can talk to the same ODMs that Google uses. Google/Samsung/whatever pays for the ODMs to design the phone. The ODMs own the IP, and they just use the same IP for the Gab phone. Same BOM.

There are dozens of operating systems you can put on a smartphone, with zero remnants of Google and still be able to use most common apps.
