I posted this over at greatawakening.win as well, but thought I'd drop it here for more visibility. I remembered seeing a magnet link to a "insurance file" posted back in July on Twitter related to Assange. I managed to track it down. Note: I do not have the file, and the magnet link is dead. What are the chances this is the file that the key Lin Wood posted a few days ago unlocks? Anyone have the file?

I dont know, the way Lin spoke about it, it seems like they could be the same, but as for the password used to encrypt the file, i really dont know.
I just tried to decrypt it using kali linux, Trying both the anagram and the unscambled text, Only getting "bad magic number" as a response back.
using VMware, share the folder containing the file to decrypt: https://docs.vmware.com/en/VMware-Workstation-Pro/12.0/com.vmware.ws.using.doc/GUID-D6D9A5FD-7F5F-4C95-AFAB-EDE9335F5562.html
Open Kali, and mount the shared folder : https://unix.stackexchange.com/questions/594080/where-to-find-the-shared-folder-in-kali-linux
cd to the shared folder location cd /mnt/hgfs/{folder name}
Type the following: openssl enc -d -aes256 -in 201606-03_insurance.aes256
when prompted, try your password
I'll definitely try this once I get the file. Current speed will have it done in roughly 6 days lol, and my network speed is fine, it's the torrent itself.
VMs and Kali linux shouldn't be an issue for me, used them in the past. I've definitely noted down that openssl command though, I've never used that command specifically before.
Thanks!
Welcome, Ive done some more digging, lins post specifically states that kappy recieved a file from the lizard squad, Kappy then gave the file to a friend, and the key to another. I found that Assange's insurance file requires 2 keys, one released with it and another that he would release as the dead mans switch so I think thats a lost cause, but during that i found wikileaks releases insurance files often. Im looking for one that would be +/- 6 months of kappy's death. No idea where to get them though. help?
Ah I see, I'll keep downloading this file cause why not, but agree that it may not be useful for a while unless Assange releases his key. I'll definitely be keeping my eye out for Kappy's file, but I don't have any good leads at the moment unfortunately.
