They think they have to comply because of the fear of the mild flu.

You'd think the phony GOP would be spear-heading attempts to thwart these lockdowns as a pathetic attempt to try and regain voter support.

They are controlled opposition. They agree with everything the Dems are doing, but go through the motions to get the opposition vote.

They don't go in lockstep with what the Dems are doing. History shows this. The little stuff is what they fight over. They'll actually change things on pseudo-ideological grounds when it's something small, while the money-laundering fraud and the other stuff happens behind the scenes. Otherwise we'd have been in a Communist country decades ago.

They have to show some actual effort to appease their base just for the sake of optics. Some of them probably do it out of a legit effort to improve things.

For some of the GOP, they were used to business as usual and may have had good intentions in mind for things at a state or local level, then Trump exposed everything, they shit themselves and raised the white flag as soon as humanly possible.

You had ringleaders like McCain, his inner circle, and a lot of people on the periphery just going through the generic political motions while being left alone as long as they didn't get too close to what was really going on.

It's good that they've been exposed as cowards, so we know they can't be trusted when it's do or die, but to think that all of them know what the deep state is doing behind closed doors is nonsensical. The biggest mistake they ever made is not getting behind Trump when there was some actual momentum to change things. Some were in on it, and that's why they stabbed Trump in the back, while the others just ran for the hills.
