Beyond that, it's a dumb narrative. They've had access to her comms, especially official ones, for years. They could just mirror her laptop at night or any other time.
The idea of mixing military in with a crowd in the hopes of recovering her professional laptop is out of a shitty spy novel. It makes zero sense.
Consider the possibility that Nancy might have felt so in control, so sure she had won, that she was using the laptop to correspond with coup plotters. Why not?
